Sunset in Tanjung Aru, Sabah

When I was in Santorini, I had the pleasure of experiencing its sunset, along with my friends. Apparently, Oia is famous for its sunset and to be fair, it was a beautiful sunset.

But coming from KK, it didn't really do much for me, coz well, our Tanjung Aru beach has an equally beautiful sunset. I remembered seeing the sunset at Tg Aru back when I was younger and island trips were a monthly thing. Didn't know how to appreciate it tho back then, but I remembered it. Why? It's because of the 2 islands that you can see from the beach (I think it was Mamutik and Manukan, or Sapi and Manukan, or Gaya and Manukan, not entirely sure) and the sun always sets in between this 2 islands. Just like this picture below:

I don't know about you, but my favourite picture to draw during art classes were the sunset at the beach. You know, two hills and a sun in between, then at the left corner, the beach with a lone coconut tree.... I liked to draw that because it was the easiest to draw, no humans, no nothing else.... LOLs...

Also, it's probably because my dad used to hang a picture of a mother holding a child for a stroll along the beach during sunset. It was a beautiful picture, but you can't see the faces of the mother and the child though. My dad said it was me and my mom, but I don't know, for some reason, I don't believe him... hahahah... I'll try to find it and take a picture of it...

Until I can find another place with a more beautiful sunset, the one we have in Tg Aru will remain the best... because I already have the image 'stamped' in my head...

Would you stay at this hotel?

Okay, so I am planning my next trip. I want to go to Bangkok next. Maybe in July. For a return ticket of RM150, I don't think that's bad at all.

So, as usual, after I checked the airline prices, the hotel was next. I logged onto hostelworld.com and hostelbookers.com, 2 of my fave hotel websites, to check on the prices of the accomondation in Bangkok.

Prices starts at $0.61. WTF? What hotel charges $1 per person per night? Now, that's cheap. But no reviews as yet. New hotel. The OverStay. It was pretty intriguing since they put this in the description: "We are a friendly place , a bit like a squat." I guess they're not lying then.

I tried hotelbookers next. If this is the real deal and have decent reviews, then why not? I might even stay longer than a week in Bangkok. Nothing at hostelbookers.

So I try my best friend next, the Google. All results returned the same pictures that they have on the hostelworld website. Now, I am getting curioser.

I have said that Google is my best friend, and I am usually able to find anything and everything with Google. So I perservered. Until I have a hit! Someone has actually been to this hostel, slept in it, and lived to blog about it.

This was the headline to the blog post :

"The Most Disgusting Place We Have Ever Stayed"

Definitely not looking good. Well, I've read the blog post, and came to a conclusion that the hotel was not somewhere I'd stay for the night.

I look for 3 things before I book my hotel for my trip. Location, Security, and cleanliness. It is safe to say that this hotel has none of it.

Will you stay here? No, not me. Maybe if I'm desperate then yeah.

NCIS - Legend Part 1 & 2

I have finally watched NCIS: Legend 1 and 2... Well, they're not exactly wow episodes, but I guess it was necessary to introduce the LA counterpart of the NCIS. I am excited about the spin-off because of, well, Chris O'Donnell. Sure he's not the GREATES actor there is but hey, he's cute!

And I am not sure why the writers got to give Mace and Gibbs a troubled past. It doesn't even seemed to be contributing to the storyline. In the beginning, Gibbs was pissed at Mace and then in the end he forgave her? Someone could have told him that she saved his ass 18 years ago and not wait till today. 18 years is a long time to hold a grudge man. Did he got screwed by the writers!

I like the apparent friendship between Callen and Gibbs but nothing specific was mentioned about how they met and how many years ago was it. It couldn't be 18 years ago, could it? His character looked to be in the mid-thirties, so probably not. And why did Callen consider Gibbs and Mace family? Hmm... I can't wait for the new series to come out, but 6 months is a really long wait!

Oh, and I like the touch screen tv in the LA's NCIS office. So cool, even McGee agreed with me! And that big ass cinematic screen! Wow! If only I have that at home!!!

I'm not really disappointed with the new NCIS line up. Sure, they're not as grand as our usual NCIS line up, but as Gibbs will say, "They'll do." Looking forward to September!
